General Dermatology
"Dermatology is an art of seeing!" This quote by Professor Franz Trautinger lights on the most important skill of a dermatologist: the talent to make a diagnosis by the act of seeing.
General dermatology includes among others: acne, rosacea, psoriasis, pruritis, vitiligo, skin infections and allergies, burns, skin cancer, connective tissue diseases, psychosomatic disorders, pediatric dermatology, skin diseases in pregnancy, hair and nail disorders, and skin manifestations of internal diseases.

Procedural Dermatology (Surgery)
• Biopsies
• Excisions
• Nail surgery
• Acne surgery
• Cryotherapy
• Sclerotherapy
• Electrosurgery

Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Few are the dermatologists specialized in Mohs’ surgery, especially in Lebanon & the MENA region.
Mohs surgery has its indications, and when indicated, it provides the patient with highest cure rates and best cosmetic outcomes. In certain types of skin cancer, the cure rate may reach 99% with Mohs micrographic surgery compared to 76% with classic surgeries.
Dr. Zeina Tannous, an American Board certified dermatologist and a Harvard-trained Mohs surgeon, performs all the Mohs surgery at our center while examining the corresponding dermatopathology specimens with an aim to eradicate at least 99% of the tumor.
Dr. Tannous is also a board certified dermatopathologist; her additional fellowship training in dermatopathology adds tremendously to her unique experience in treating aggressive, recurrent and complicated skin cancers in cosmetically and functionally sensitive areas such as the face.

Dermatopathology
Clinicopathologic Correlation (CPC) is a major feature that characterizes the daily life of dermatologists, it gives them an advantage lacking in many other specialties.
When we take a biopsy from your skin, mucosa, hair or nail, we examine it under the microscope, in an attempt to make an accurate diagnosis of conditions that cannot be confirmed by history and macroscopic physical examination alone.

LASER Therapy
We are supplied by the newest technologies in laser therapies including the Diode laser, the Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) and the fractional skin resurfacing laser.
These lasers, while in expert hands, have a major role in many skin conditions such as laser hair removal, rejuvenation and removal of pigmented and vascular lesions, scars, and burns.

Vascular Birthmark Clinic
From congenital (skin diseases children are born with) to infantile birthmarks and pediatric vascular anomalies (e.g. hemangiomas, port-wine stains), to vascular diseases in adults, our department is lucky to have experts in the field of vascular disorders.

We are here to provide you with the best available multidisciplinary treatment options, including a combination of medications and advanced laser therapies, along with interventional radiologic procedures.
Remember! The earlier you start the treatment the better.

Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dermatology
Along with medical knowledge, dermatologists get special intensive training to acquire the skills needed to perform the cosmetic procedures in a safely manner.
In our department, we have multiple modalities that can help our patients improve their appearance: from anti-aging creams to peeling therapies, Botox, fillers, and the newest laser rejuvenation techniques.
After all, your skin is the mirror of your body, it is affected by your daily life and your general health; it shows a lot about who you are.
