Standardized Patient Instructors (SPIs)

Byblos Campus

The Gilbert and Rose Marie Chagoury School of Medicine at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invited LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital staff to help train tomorrow’s doctors by enrolling as Standardized Patient Instructors (SPIs)in its Clinical Skills Program. SPIs simulate real patients and are interviewed and examined by LAU medical students. No medical background is required. Training sessions will be held at LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital. An average of only 8 to 10 hours per month is required. SPIs provide feedback and instruction to students and faculty on the performance of medical students they encounter in the role-playing sessions.
