Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death. Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year. For this reason, based on the Infection Control Committee recommendations, a yearly flu vaccination campaign was performed in October 2014 in LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital. Flu vaccine was provided, under the supervision of Dr. Rania Sakr, to all nursing, non-Nursing personnel, physicians, medical students, residents, fellows, and LAU students rotating in LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital. This campaign was managed by Mrs. Noellie Eid and by Mrs. Sana’a Zoghby.
