Work Schedule: Shift rotation basis (12 hours) (42 hours per week). Overtime as required.

DESCRIPTION 
He or she promotes and restores patients' health by using the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical, psychological and education support to patients, families and staff; supervising assigned team members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)
Administrative  Respect the hospital mission, vision, and values.  Participate in unit meetings and in other hospital committees as assigned.  Participate in Quality Improvement Plans.  Report of unusual incidents and complaints to the Head Nurse / supervisor  Assist in preparation inventories. Clinical  Receive and orient patient to room environment.  Develop plan of care for each patient using Nursing Process: o Assessment of the patient’s needs o Diagnosis of human response needs that nurses can deal with o Planning of patient’s care o Implementation of care o Evaluation of the success of the implemented care  Transcribe and implement Physicians' orders.  Prepare and administer prescribed treatments and medications.  Monitor effects of medications; record medications given and patients' reactions.  Complete all documentation for assessments, observations, planning, progress notes, and care provided to patients.  Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, act on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.  Conduct multidisciplinary rounds, and keep informed of special orders concerning patients.  Collaborate with physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient..  Give a complete and comprehensive report on patient status at the inter shift report.  Participate in patient and family education about their Rights and Responsibilities.  Participate in patient / family education on the care and management of condition.  Provide physiological support to patient and families.  Ensure prompt communication to arrange patient transfer /transport.  Coordinate effective discharge planning.  Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.  Perform all nursing duties while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.  Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.  Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing universal precaution practices at all times.  Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.  Aware of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner.  Handle all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.  Schedule work assignments, determine work priorities, and oversee the work of Practical Nurses and Patient Care Agent.  Participate in evaluation of new products. Teaching  Support and mentor junior colleagues, nursing students or in charge duties.  Participate in the internal education program of the department. Continuous Professional Development  Attend in-service training required by the hospital.  Maintain CPR according to the Resuscitative Training policy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 Current Registered Nurse licensure, Bachelor’s Degree is required.  Previous clinical experience is preferred.  Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).  Excellent verbal & written English skills. French is a plus.  Maintaining Lebanese Order of Nurses registration.
