Work Schedule: 42.5 hours per week. Overtime as required.

Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure, and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)
 Respect the hospital mission, vision, and values.  Participate in unit meetings.  Report of unusual incidents and complaints to superior.  Participate in preparing inventories. Clinical  Participate in the reception of patient IN-OR.  Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.  Use sterile technique for scrubbing, gowning and gloving.  Receive sterile equipment via circulating nurse using sterile technique.  Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.  Perform appropriate counts of sponges, instruments, and needles with circulator.  Perform assisted gowning and gloving to surgeon and assistants.  Help in draping sterile field.  Pass instruments to surgeon on a decisive and positive manner.  Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.  Watch the field / procedure and anticipate the surgeons needs  Prepare and help applying dressings  Prepare instruments for decontamination.  Assist other members of team with cleaning of room.  Assist in preparing room for the next patient.  Perform all nursing duties while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.  Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.  Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing universal precaution practices at all times.  Is aware of safety issues and strive to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner.  Participate in the evaluation of new products. Teaching  Support and mentors junior colleagues or nursing students as assigned (preceptor).  Continue Professional Development  Attend in-service training required by the hospital.  Maintain CPR according to the Resuscitative Training policy
 Current practical Nurse Certificate is preferred.  A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.
