Awards, Certifications and Accreditations

In 2002, as Dr. Rizk Clinic, LAU Medical Center – Rizk Hospital was the first hospital in Lebanon awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. This achievement was testimony to the hospital's commitment and usage of an innovative management system that emphasized Quality.
Then the hospital was awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certification and it was maintained through a program of bi-annual Surveillance Audits and a three yearly Recertification Audits.
On April 2018, the Hospital was certified ISO 9001 (Version 2015) which employs the Process Approach, and incorporates the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle and Risk-Based thinking.

LAU Medical Center – Rizk Hospital is accredited by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
In 2002 LAU Medical Center – Rizk Hospital received its first accreditation from the Ministry of Public Health. Operating on a three-year accreditation cycle, the Hospital was reaccredited in 2005. Seeking to broaden and strengthen its accreditation standards, the MOPH, in conjunction with the French Health Authority (HAS), launched an expanded and more rigorous accreditation process in 2009 and the hospital was reaccredited in 2011.
In 2019, the LMOPH launched the New Accreditation Standards for Hospitals.
Waiting for the official visit to be determined by the MOPH, the Hospital Management is overseeing the implementation plan and the continuous improvement to comply with the new Standards.

As Dr. Rizk Clinic, LAU Medical Center – Rizk Hospital was awarded The National Order of the Cedar in 1992.

JCI Accreditation standards were launched at the LAUMCRH in January 2011.
Currently, LAUMC-RH Accreditation documents are aligned with both the MOPH and JCI standards, and the Hospital Management is committed for JCI accreditation.
