Act of Compassion

About compassion

Compassion motivates people to go out of their way to help the physical, mental, or emotional pains of another and themselves
Compassion is about feeling the suffering of others and acting upon it.
Our Purpose

Our Purpose

The purpose of Act of Compassion is for us to pay back to the community and send a strong message of compassion, solidarity and social responsibility and to reinforce our mission and commitment to the society who is in dire need of help, now more than ever.
Our Objective

Our Objective

To support different clusters of the Lebanese community and its people through solidarity acts ignited by our colleagues, by providing different health care solutions and assistance.
These different activities will be planned by our physicians, staff and faculty of both LAUMC-RH and SOM with the objective to ease the tough economic situation on the Lebanese people.
Given the COVID-19 public health crisis, the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine and the LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital launched a Mobile Clinic Service - supported by many generous donors: Mersaco, the Czech Republic Embassy, GE healthcare, GME and Feel the Beat campaign of Majid Al Futtaim which toured the towns and villages of Lebanon to provide good health awareness, medical consultations and care as well as medical and laboratory tests for all those in need.

Our Destinations

Until now, the LAU Mobile Clinic visited 227 destinations all over Lebanon and provided 9,187 free PCR tests for patients suspected of the viral infection and who are not covered by any kind of insurance, social security or those who cannot afford it.
